The Care and Feeding of an Athlete Workshop - in-person
This workshop is designed for parents who struggle with how and what to feed their athletes before, between, and after practice, those with athletes who are regularly sick, injured, or feeling rundown, and coaches wanting to help their athletes feel stronger and more confident in their sport. Presentations and discussions will be led by dance physical therapist Meghan Gearhart, a family nutritionist, former professional dancer, and exercise physiologist and Director of Wellness at the United States Performance Center. The importance of nutrition and how it impacts athletes as students, when injured, and while trying to optimize performance will be discussed with practical solutions for healthy meals, snacks, and sports drinks. The workshop will be most impactful for parents, teachers, and coaches of ALL sports (yes, including dance), but youth and adolescent athletes ages 8+ are also welcome to attend.
Group workshops available at studios onsite throughout the '24-'25 season.
